Frequently Asked Questions
1. What should I wear to class? Comfortable, form-fitting clothing is best. This allows the
instructor to view your alignment during class. Avoid wearing baggy tops and shorts. Also,
classes are performed in bare feet. Socks can cause you to slip on your mat and lead to muscle
strains. Please bring your own mat.
2. What is proper yoga class etiquette? Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to class, leave your cell
phone in the car and avoid heavy perfumes or scented lotions. Give yourself time to set up your
mat and begin to find a quiet mind.
3. Which class is right for me? Please see our class schedule for a list of classes and
descriptions. New to yoga? We suggest you try Tranquil Breath or Yoga Basics to start. If you're
still unsure which class is best for your needs, feel free to contact us!
4. I'm not flexible, but I want to try yoga. What do you recommend? Flexibility is not a
requirement for yoga, but rather something you'll gain with a regular practice! Along with strength,
balance, stress reduction and relaxation, to name a few other benefits. Try one of the classes
listed above if you're new to yoga.
5. How often should I practice yoga? While every day would be ideal, we understand that
busy schedules can cause time restraints. We recommend that you practice 3-4 days a week, if
possible. However, even 15 minutes a day can be beneficial.
Please note--We ask that you check with your doctor before beginning this or any other form of
exercise. If you are healing an injury but have been cleared to practice yoga by your doctor,
please let your instructor know so that he/she can give you modifications to prevent further injury.
